Would a Collection Agency Work Under Punk?

By Rob Sutter

When it comes to professional wrestling in the eyes of the public, I'm sure that everyone has the same mindset. Hulking musclemen and brute strength are only two of the many stereotypes that are associated with this line of work and no one else can say otherwise. However, I feel as though people are stuck in the last since wrestling has changed. There has been more of an intellectual shift in recent times and one wrestler may find it beneficial to get involved with a collection agency.

When it comes to the array of wrestlers who blend intelligence with in-ring ability seamlessly, you're going to want to talk about CM Punk. He is able to use his fight training to win matches but his savvy mindset works to turn any situation in his favor. His over one-year reign as the WWE Champion right now is a testament to that, since a reign that long is practically unheard of today. Punk's work is something that cannot be denied and he stands as one of my favorite wrestlers in the world today.

However, as Punk has taken a recent turn to the dark side, I can't deny that his tactics have changed quite a bit. Instead of an emphasis on powerful strikes, he has since turned to cheating tactics, whether it's utilizing the ropes for added leverage during pins or taking advantage of interference that other wrestlers cause. He is, in essence, a master of the game and he has played it well up until this point in his career. Even though he is very smart in wrestling, something tells me that debt would be a situation he wouldn't want a part of.

I think it would be in Punk's best interest to look into an organization like Rapid Recovery if he wanted his work done in an efficient. In fact, such a collection agency would be perfect for the money-related problems that Punk may not want to be too terribly involved in. Punk would find it beneficial to look into these services as a heel who allows others to do the work for him. I feel like the conflicting level of morals between the villainous Punk and a strong company like this could come about, though.

Punk would most likely need to change his image temporarily if he wanted to see success in this line of work. There's no question that a collection agency can do a great amount of work in an efficient manner but just like with any partnership, there are problems that may come about. Punk, for instance, is someone who doesn't see anything wrong in taking easy ways out, which goes against what a moral agency stands for. There's potential for business to be done, no matter how slim it may be.
